Studio Ghibli-inspired art is a popular part of our modern culture, and not just in Japan. People all over the world have fallen in love with Hayao Miyazaki’s magical movies, hence the explosion of things like Ghibli tattoos and Totoro cupcakes.
One mom literally spirited her daughter away when she surprised her with this awesome Studio Ghibli-inspired terrarium for her birthday. The glow-in-the-dark Princess Mononoke terrarium was shared via Imgur and it looks just as mystical as it did in the movie. It measures 14-inches in height, sits on a wooden base, relies on LED lighting and includes a pretty Jade Plant on top.
The terrarium was built for Kodama, the Japanese folklore tree spirits featured in the ‘97 Studio Ghibli film. According to ancient myths, Kodama have supernatural powers that can be used as a blessing or a curse.
The Kodama in this terrarium look pretty pleased with their new dwelling, so we can only hope they plan to use their powers as a blessing!
