Karol "Charlie" Lewandowski and Aleksandra "Alex" Slusarczy are two young travel bloggers from Poland. When it all started, they had very little money, but a big desire to see the world - so, they bought an old VW bus for $600, painted it, packed supplies and took off

Six years later, their travel list includes visiting more than 50 countries on five continents. All for just $8 a day

Of course, it's not surprising that many who read about the couple's story, questioned its authenticity, and how they could possibly travel the world for less than the cost of a couple of cups of Starbucks coffee a day

Lewandowski explained on Bored Panda recently that they never pay for accommodations as they sleep in the van, or in a tent, and they never eat out, only cooking their own food

Their biggest expense is fuel, which is why they often have other people traveling with them to save fuel costs. They travel slowly, spending a few days in one place to save even more, and they also sell postcards from their trip

"Lots of people are ordering a postcard from our trip – they get a postcard from a beautiful place, and we get the money for one liter of fuel," Lewandowski writes.

When the van breaks down, they're able to repair it, as they've learned how to fix it along the way. Although, when a mechanic's help is required, he says, they often don't accept their money because they want to help, and be a part of the adventure too

And, what a big adventure it's been! The couple even has their own electric shower, and a water tank that sits on the van's roof, so they don't have to pay to take a shower. Sometimes they're able to clean up in a river or lake

And how do they manage to bring their van on overseas journeys? They transport the vehicle by ship. While that's rather pricey, they've managed to overcome that obstacle too

Sponsors help pay for transport in exchange for advertising on their van. Plus, as their blog is the most popular travel blog in Poland, they're earning their own money too. They've also published two books about their travels

They also do photo sessions for companies and advertising clips in exotic locations, in addition to work online as a graphic designer and IT Specialist. All they need is a spot to hookup to the Internet, and a laptop

Their travels have taken them all the way to the Sahara desert of Africa where they rode camels - and even got engaged

They've also had encounters with all sorts of wildlife from kangaroos to a wild emu that tried to race their va

And, they're still on the road today
